As January is upon us we thought would be wise to put together a case of crowd pleasing, bank friendly wines that can brighten your evening without breaking the bank. We've discounted it as well because we are...well...lovely people. It now sits firmly in the 'can drink watching the chase' category of wine consumption.

We have 4 red and two whites, why only 2 whites? Because it's cold and most people would prefer to pop open a red we are imagining. However! You can never ignore a tasty white, hence the Can do Sil and the Ciello.

COUPLE OF WHITES

Ciello Bianco – 100% Catarratto from Sicily this is a great entry level natural wine. Light in body with lemon and tropical fruits, it’s a treat. This is an unfiltered wine so expect a bit of cloudiness, this is completely normal and as the winemaker intended. (Natural)

Can do Sil Blanco - The Godello grape makes for a wine with lemon, pears and stone fruit…oh my! This is a fresh and ripe white wine. Wonderful on its own and with good company (although a bowl full of nibbles would help)

BUNCH OF REDS

Vignerons d'Estezargues, Terre de Mistral - Grenache and Syrah blend from the Rhone. The nose is black pepper and ripe cherry with dark plum and something a little more savoury to boot, smooth on the palate and very drinkable with well developed tannins. (Natural)

Reserve Pinot Noir, The Winery of Good Hope - A fantastic core of soft red berry fruit gives this South African Pinot real character. Its a soft and supple wine that has good tannin without being drying. A Pinot that shows new world wines can have plenty of elegance. (Natural)

Ciello Rosso - 100% Nero d'avola. Light and funky fruit bomb this one, cherry and ripe plum. It’s natural so unfiltered and unfined and that’s not a bad thing! That just means more flavour, people! Try it slightly chilled and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. (Natural)

Chateau Ollieux-Romanis Cuvee Alice - Concentrated nose of plums, blackberries with a little hint of coffee beans. Round and juicy on the palate with fresh red fruit flavours and a fresh minerality (Organic)
