About Bodegas Olmaza
Jose Gil is the next generation to head up the Bodegas, a family tradition which spans back many generations. José's family farm 40 Ha of vines around the village and in the hills behind, as far north and as high as you can go in to the Alevesa. The building itself is in the centre of the village, but tucked away so is quite easy to miss.
Tasting Notes
On the nose you get cherry, raspberry and a little red plum. There is a touch of something floral as well. On the palate the carbonic maceration is evident as its juicy and elegant fruit all the way, no oak domination for this lovely, easy drinking joven Rioja.
