About Comando G

Founded by Daniel Gómez Landi and Fernando Garcia after leaving Madrid university where they both studied enology and met in 2005. After pursuing other projects, they came back together and started Comando G in 2008 “with the goal to make wines that reflect the place, the landscape and the identity of our vineyards”. Interestingly they classify their wines according to the Burgundy system of Village, 1er Cru and Grand Cru, with the vineyard defining the system. Their wines have achieved legendary status in a relatively short amount of time and they achieve this through a combination of very old Garnacha vines (between 50 and 80 years old), organic and biodynamic farming and having a fine grained knowledge of what each of their vineyards can produce and how the individual parcels must be handled to get the best from the grapes.

Tasting Notes

Subtle sweet fruits and a floral perfumed nose, you can see how they have looked to Burgundy for inspiration. The wine is quite pale in the glass but the wine so aromatic and intensely flavoured it’s a masterclass in how to grow and vinifie Grenache. Wonderful wine from a Spanish producer on top of its game.
