About Hacienda Grimon
Run by the Oliváns family who have been making wine in Rioja for generations. Grimon is run by Paco and Eliseo Grimon, their 25 hectares of vineyards can be found in a small corner of the Rioja Alta known as Valle de Jubera. They don't see the need to be certified because it's the way they've always farmed, but they are organic. All their wines from entry level to the top are harvested by hand so only the best grapes are picked. The style of Grimon is very much on the fresher side of Rioja, as the brothers want their wines to show the character of the soil, the varieties and the climate.
Tasting Notes
This is a superb Spanish Sauvignon, with aromas of citrus, pineapple and a little melon. It's lovely and fresh and a rarity in Rioja, though after tasting this offering you’ll be wondering why Rioja doesn’t grow more Sauvignon.
