The winery was established in 2018, making wine in a ‘garagiste’ style set up from a collection of inherited family vineyards. They are organic using natural yeasts and made in tiny quantities. Think Burgundian model - village wines, single vineyards, and single parcel. The Barrera de Sol is from south-east facing vines on sandy soil, a powerful and fruit forward expression of Garnacha.
This is a powerful but restrained fruit driven wine. Silky tannins, cigar box, spice, rosemary and thyme. Obviously ripe but lovely balance. This is an exciting wine from the very new Spanish wine DOP of Cebreros.
