Marc Castan was born in Narbonne and after graduating high school went on to study winemaking. In 2009 he left the cooperative he was working for and started Mamaruta to bottle his own family’s vineyard production. The family’s vineyards lie in the communes of La Palme and he took them over directly from his grandfather. All the vines are farmed organically, and the cellar is worked with minimum input, and with a great respect for life and nature. In the vineyards, he uses biodynamic practices without certification.
A nose with notes of blueberry, blackberry, cocoa, and sweet spices. Powerful, full-bodied, with beautiful freshness on the finish. Decanting is almost mandatory, this is a wine that needs to breathe, so don't rush this one! A wonderful Fitou
