About Mamaruta
Marc Castan was born in Narbonne and after graduating high school went on to study winemaking. In 2009 he left the cooperative he was working for and started Mamaruta to bottle his own family’s vineyard production. The family’s vineyards lie in the communes of La Palme and he took them over directly from his grandfather. All the vines are farmed organically, and the cellar is worked with minimum input, and with a great respect for life and nature. In the vineyards, he uses biodynamic practices without certification.
Tasting Notes
Lively natural wine with a big strawberry and cranberry kick, a little funk and zippy acidity. Works really well with a little chill in its bones. Really enjoyable and slightly out there Carignan from an excellent Languedoc producer.
