A case of 6 whites for the discerning Wine Fiend. We've picked 6 whites that are sure to please. Wine like the Ciello that can be enjoyed with friends, accompanied by nothing more than a bowl of olives. Also, wine like the Cora Loxarel that has the body and complexity to pair with food.
(PLEASE NOTE, CASE CONTENTS MAY CHANGE DUE TO AVAILABILITY OF CERTAIN WINES)
Cora Blanco Loxarel - Intensely aromatic wine with an abundance of aromas giving you a big kiss on your nose, a bit of lychee, ripe grape (yes sometimes wine smells like grapes) and a light floral note. It really is a beguiling wine. You almost expect it to be off dry, but this is dry and mineral on the palate. You would normally look to pay much more for this much complexity. (Biodynamic)
Hacienda Grimon Sauvignon Blanc - This is a superb Spanish Sauvignon, with aromas of citrus, pineapple and a little melon. It's lovely and fresh and a rarity in Rioja, though after tasting this offering you’ll be wondering why Rioja doesn’t grow more Sauvignon. (Organic)
Can do Sil Blanco - Lemon, pears and stone fruit…oh my! This is a fresh and ripe white wine. Wonderful on its own and with good company (although a bowl full of nibbles would help)
Pierre Luneau-Papin, Folle Blanche du Pays Nantais - Clean and crisp, this is all about the citrus and the floral. It’s what you crave when you drink wine by the sea, eating fresh shellfish…or fish and chips (we ain't posh). (Organic)
Ciello, Bianco - Bags of tropical fruits, lemon and a nice amount of body. Grapefruit on the palate keeping it fresh but, as mentioned, nicely balanced with a bit of weight. This wine is unfiltered so can be quite cloudy, nothing unusual for this style of wine. Fantastic value entry level natural wine. (Natural)
Cantina Sociale Frentana Trebbiano d’Abruzzo 'Frentano' - Apple, pear and yellow plums on the nose with crisp refreshing minerality and citrus fruit on the palate. A lovely, bright, crowd-pleasing wine from a fantastic Italian wine maker. (Conventional)
