About Vale da Capucha
Pedro Marques draws his inspiration from the classic wine regions of Central Europe. He has always been captivated by the subtlety and restrained minerality of these wines, and the idea of ensuring the personality of a vineyard is expressed in the glass. Nothing added, nothing taken away. At home in Lisbon, he is the fourth-generation in a winemaking family, he owns 13 hectares of vineyards in the DOC Torres Vedras. His main planting are white grapes – predominantly Portuguese locals Arinto and Fernão Pires plus a little Alvarinho, Gouveio, Viosinho and Antão Vaz.
Tasting Notes
This is a red fruit driven wine, and on the lighter side for a Portuguese red. There are herbaceous notes and a little smokiness. Juicy fruits and lively, mineral acidity make this a refreshing red.
