About Bodegas Olmaza
The Bodega has never exported to the UK before so their appearance on our shores is most welcome. Four generations of wine makers and all the grapes come from the Bodega's own vineyards, located in three of the best areas of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa: San Vicente de la Sonsierra, Briones and Labastida. They have a total of 40 hectares, distributed in a score of small and medium-sized farms.
Tasting Notes
Raspberry and plums with some floral notes, think violets, there is some sweet spice as well. They use Carbonic Maceration which creates a lighter less tannic red wine, the result is a fresher style of Rioja that is all about the berry.
