About Weingut Strehn
The current Strehn family’s great grandfather, Carl Strehn, founded a small winery for himself and his friends, never more than a private indulgence. After World War 2 his son Joe Strehn took over the winery and expanded the operation, although he had to use his newly purchased tractor as a taxi to earn extra money to purchase more land. The same family continues on the vineyard today with 45 hectares of vines in Mittel Burgenland and produce exceptional wines in a sustainable way, they are practicing organic and waiting for certification.
Tasting Notes
Beautiful fragrant nose of ripe berries and raspberry leaf with a smoky edge. Grows in intensity with time in the glass. Lovely perfume and finesse but with some dark brooding fruit underneath. Some velvet tannins which grip on the finish.
